LYL, a Spain-based logistics integrator, and Hai Robotics, a global leader in Autonomous Case-handling Robot (ACR) systems, have reached a new milestone in their three-year collaboration with the successful deployment of a modular warehouse automation system for Bella Aurora Labs, a heritage cosmetics and healthcare brand in Spain.
The collaboration marks the start of a long-term alliance between LYL and Hai Robotics to deliver modular, scalable warehouse automation solutions tailored to the needs of the Spanish market.
From Growth Challenges to Smart Fulfillment
As Bella Aurora’s portfolio/business expanded, the company embraced the opportunity to modernize logistics, elevating efficiency and customer experience. With LYL leading the integration and Hai Robotics providing cutting-edge automation, the project is designed to help the brand stay agile while scaling up operations.
“At LYL, our strategy is to offer logistics solutions that use the latest technology and are adapted to each client,” said Mikel Artola, Sales & Solution Manager at LYL. “Hai Robotics helps us do this by making it easy to add advanced automation to our warehouses. Because the system is modular, we can start with small projects and grow step by step, so our clients benefit from automation right away without a large upfront investment.”
For Bella Aurora, a brand with over a century of heritage in skincare, embracing robotic automation reflects the same pioneering spirit that drives its scientific innovation in cosmetics” said Antoni Marquès, Operations Director at Bella Aurora Labs.
Powered by HaiPick System 3
At the core of the solution is HaiPick System 3 (HPS3) - one of Hai Robotics’ most advanced systems - designed for ultra-dense storage and fast-paced order handling. The system uniquely combines two types of autonomous robots:
- 8 HaiPick A42TD-G-E1 ACRs handle high-density storage at up to 8 meters, retrieving totes stored three-deep within compact aisles.
- 15 high-speed K50 AMRs retrieve priority totes from the bottom rack layer and transport them to workstations at up to 4 meters per second, ensuring fast turnaround for outbound orders.
The solution also includes 2 conveyor lines for inbound and outbound handling, and 4 desktop picking stations, including 1 reserved for redundancy. A simplified grey box HaiQ software setup was chosen for ease of integration, and safety measures include core interlocks for system protection.
Together, the robots operate within a footprint less than 650 sqm, managing approx. 8,000 storage locations and reaching a throughput of approx. 300 totes per hour - a setup specifically tailored to Bella Aurora’s SKU profile, available space, and workflow.
“The Autonomous Case-handling Robots are especially interesting for us because they allow for smart, automated storage and picking without needing to change our whole infrastructure,” noted LYL. “Thanks to this, we can quickly and cost-effectively adapt to new business needs.”
