The cyber® iTAS® system 2 is a drive system for AGVs combining a lean and integration-friendly safety architecture with maximum power density, giving vehicles a decisive gain in performance and increasing productivity.
In intralogistics, warehouse automation and mobile robotics, drive system integration, functional safety and compact design are decisive factors for scalable AGV and AMR deployment. At LogiMAT 2026 in Stuttgart (March 24–26, Hall 8, Booth B04), WITTENSTEIN presents intelligent drive technology tailored to automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
The focus is on the cyber iTAS system 2, a compact differential drive solution combining servo drive electronics, wheel actuator and certified safety functions in a single architecture.
Integrated drive and safety concept
The cyber iTAS system 2 consists of the cyber simco drive 2 servo drive with integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) certified to SIL3 and PLe, and the heavy-duty cyber TAS actuator 2 wheel unit with integrated brake and wheel.
This configuration reduces external safety components and wiring effort compared to conventional distributed architectures. The differential drive system is designed for industrial heavy-load applications while maintaining a space-saving footprint for compact vehicle platforms.
By integrating certified functional safety directly into the drive system, AGV manufacturers can simplify validation processes and reduce system complexity during development and commissioning.

The cyber® iTAS® system 2 – as a drive system for AGVs – enables high-performance differential drives to be implemented with only 180 mm of mounting space under the body, vehicle widths of just 460 mm and vehicle masses between 1 and 3 tons.
Lean safety architecture for mobile robotics
A key technical feature of the system is its reduced safety architecture. The design requires fewer cables, connectors and external modules, which lowers assembly effort and documentation requirements.
Optional safety extensions up to SIL2/PLd or SIL3/PLe can be implemented depending on application requirements. Safe bus communication supports PROFIsafe and CIP Safety, enabling compatibility with commonly used safety master controllers in automated intralogistics systems.
This approach addresses a common challenge in AGV and AMR engineering: integrating high safety standards without increasing vehicle size, weight or system complexity.
Modular motor solutions for 24 V and 48 V systems
In addition to the integrated drive system, WITTENSTEIN presents frameless servo motors for compact steerable drive units and application-specific motors for 24 VDC and 48 VDC mobile platforms.
These motors are designed for situations where standard catalog motors cannot meet installation or performance requirements. High power-density servo drive systems for auxiliary axes are also part of the portfolio, supporting lifting mechanisms, steering modules or additional functional units.
Platform relevance at LogiMAT 2026
LogiMAT 2026 in Stuttgart is considered Europe’s largest trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management. For manufacturers of AGVs, AMRs and mobile logistics systems, the exhibition provides a technical platform to evaluate integrated drive systems, safety architectures and communication interfaces in the context of real-world automation requirements.
With its integrated functional safety, reduced wiring concept and compatibility with standard safety communication protocols, the cyber iTAS system 2 addresses the increasing demand for compact, efficient and compliant drive solutions in mobile intralogistics automation.
